Place value is possibly the most important foundational skill for math in any given school year. Yet, place value often gets taught quickly in math textbooks in order to move on to other concepts. Here are some 3rd grade place value activities to give your students more place value practice and build those foundational math skills.

Place Value Digital Math Escape Rooms

These math escape rooms for Boom™ Cards are one of my most popular resources! Students absolutely love them. Teachers love them too because they are no prep and self checking.

When I created these escape rooms, I wanted them to be easy for teachers to use. I wanted students to be able to complete them independently. These escape rooms proceed in a linear fashion. Students do not need to click back and forth to complete them. It makes it a cinch for students to complete the activities independently, which makes teachers’ lives easier.

I have place value escape rooms for place value to the thousands place, comparing and ordering numbers, and rounding to the nearest 10 and 100. You can check out these escape rooms here.
