Simple Skip Counting Activities to Help with Multiplication Skills

Skip counting can be a great way for students to learn about and practice multiplication. It helps students memorize multiplication facts and helps students see multiplication patterns. Could you use some simple skip counting activities to help students with multiplication? Read on to find them.

Skip Counting Activity #1: Free Skip Counting Strips

Skip counting strips are a fun way for students to work on memorizing multiplication facts! You can see an example of skip counting strips in the photo above. Each student can be given a set, or you can keep 5 to 6 sets in your classroom for individual or small group practice. Different strips can be added as students learn new facts.

Skip Counting Activity #2: Poppable Multiplication Tables

We all know that kids LOVE learning in tactile ways. Poppable multiplication tables are a perfect way to practice skip counting and build multiplication facts. Skip Counting Activity #3: Free Skip Counting Multiplication Game

In this FREE skip counting game for multiplication, students draw a card, and practice skip counting by that number around the game board. Students will love using this game in math centers or small groups! You can click here to get it.

Skip Counting Activity #4: Task Cards
